History
The Waldron Rise Foundation was started in 2009 by Brad and Michelle Whitman. It is an offshoot of the Halcyon Hill Foundation, which was founded by Brad’s mother Anne Whitman. The Foundation’s goal is to continue the compassionate support Anne provided to children in the Rochester, NY area, while expanding its support to include adults with physical, mental and emotional needs. The foundation now includes Brad and Michelle’s children Jena and James Murphy and Ashley and Keith Goergen, as well as other valued board members. In 2022, Waldron Rise expanded the geography it serves to include Onondaga County.
The Al Sigl Community of Agencies, The Children’s Agenda, Lollypop Farm, Seneca Park Zoo Society and St. John’s Foundation all nominated Waldon Rise Foundation for Outstanding Foundation on National Philanthropy Day in 2013.
